Beautiful Blogger Award & Questions

I don't often repost the rewards I recieve but this one had some fun questions. The Sunflower Blogger Award The Beautiful Blogger Award was given to me this time by Naomi who has a fairly new blog called Wonderland Creek that you should all check out! There's been a few new period drama blogs popping up recently and it's wonderful, especially as I get older, that younger bloggers are continuing the period drama love!

Naomi's Questions:

-What do you think of Pride and Prejudice 1995? I want your honest opinion!
I do really really love P&P95 as it is definitely the best ever P&P adaptation and am a proud member of the P&P95Forever Club! That being said I do sometimes privately lament that everyone now seems to think "Colin Firth" whenever they think of "Mr. Darcy". I think that Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle were very well cast at the time but no matter how good the actors are nothing can really compare to the book and what Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet look like in our own minds when reading it.

-What are you now reading?
The Rescue by Lori Wick, second book in The English Garden series. I'm finding it a bit less interesting and more historically flawed than the first book but still enjoyable.

-What is your least favourite costume from your favourite movie?
Well my favorite period drama would have to be Persuasion (1995) and as much as I like the costumes in that I'd have to say that Anne's dress she wears to the card party toward the end of the film is my least favorite. The dress itself is kind if a pretty style but the gloves and other accesories she wears just make her look like an old lady and it's not my favorite.

-What is your favourite Period Drama hat?
I love Marianne's staw bonnet from Sense & Sensibility 1995 from the scene where Colonel Brandon is reading her poetry. I also love Lizzy Bennet's hat from P&P 1995 and the scene where she's walking with Colonel Fitzwilliam at Rosings.

-Who is the last man (from a Period Drama) in the world who you could ever marry?
Well, I would never marry a scoundrel, but one hero that I could never marry would be Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre. Yes, I do see his merrits but on the other hand he majorly lied to Jane and probably would have gone through with marrying her had not someone stopped him! I can excuse some things but it is hard to trust him or name him a true gentleman when compared to Mr. Knightley, Captain Wentworth and Mr. Thornton.

-Which period drama lady would most like to have as your teacher?
Miss Taylor from Emma? Oh no, I have a better one, Anne Shirley from Anne of Avonlea!

-What is the next thing that you are going to watch? (Or what do you think?)
The Book Theif (2013), but after my weekend off I find that it is still unopened and waiting to be watched. :(
I've also been watching the 1980's Bleak House on Netflix. Only four more episodes to go! It's good by not as enjoyable at the 2005 version.

-What's the colour of your bedroom?
Well, I actually have three bedrooms in various houses at this present moment.
My room at my parent's house has cream walls and I have a lot of burgandy and cream accents. My room at my great-grandmother's house has pale pink walls and is very bright and sunny. My room for the weekends at my aunt's house are black and red, I have a floral comforter that matches perfectly and I have two Doctor Who posters up on my walls. :)

-What do you feel like eating now?
An ice cream sundae with hot fudge, nuts, caramel and whipped cream! I'm so bad.
I've actually got to make dinner soon: sweet & sour meatballs and veggies over rice. Yum!

Well, I'm reading it, so I guess that nominates me... so let's dive into the questions! :)

1. Yes, but they're usually spontaneous and infrequent.

2. I knit and used to cross stitch (haven't done it in years!), and I'd love to learn to crochet.

3. Bleak House (2005)! LOVE!

4. Lime. Yes, I know, I'm weird.

5. My parents'.

6. The amazing scent of books. What else? :)

7. Harold Skimpole. Ugh, I do so detest that man!!

8. "He shall be mine, and I shall call him Squishy." Why I thought of that, I'm not sure, but... realistically, I'd get a husky dog and probably name it Mik-Shrok (after the sled dog in Gloria Repp's Alaskan missionary books).

9. Right now, it's "The Death of Gavroche" from the Les Mis film ("Let others rise to take our place, until the earth is FREEEE!"), but for this last week it's mostly been selections from the 2013 Cinderella ("But the world is full of zanies and fools...").

10. Pizza! I hope. Or pancakes. They're both good. :)

Enjoyed reading your answers! Here are mine:

1. Do you like pulling practical jokes on people? ~ Noooo, I don't.

2. Do you knit, crochet, cross stitch or do any other needlework? If not would you like to learn? ~ I knit. I have done some cross stitch and I'd like to learn a few more basic embroidery stitches.

3. What was the last period drama you watched? ~ The 70's BBC North and South for the second time. (I actually did a review for it a little while ago.)

4. Which flavor do you prefer: lemon, lime or orange? ~ Lemon, though I love a citrus combination.

5. If you had a locket whose photo would you put inside? ~ Mmmmm. I don't have a "special" someone yet, and my entire immediate family wouldn't fit - so I'd probably save it. :-)

6. If you were to create your own perfume line what scent would you most like to bottle up? ~ The richness of full blown peonies.

7. If you could scold one period drama villain in person who would you scold and why? ~ I don't know... Wickham, perhaps? But for all the effect it would have, it probably wouldn't be worth the breath or scolding time. :-)

8. If you were to get a new pet today what would it be and what would you name it? ~ Besides farm animals, our family has a LOT of dogs and cats so I can't quite imagine getting another. But I did name *my* golden retriever Orla (after the princess in Prince Boghole by Erik Christian Haugaard). :-)

9. I always have a song in my head, what song has been on your mind lately? ~ We were listening to the '95 S&S soundtrack this afternoon. ;-)

10. What will you have for dinner? ~ In the evening, one of my sisters is in the kitchen. For supper tonight I think it's Irish soda bread and whatever other deliciously amazing thing she comes up with!!!

Thank you and fun questions!!!

Hi, Miss Laurie! I answered your questions on my private blog, and I'd love to have you visit if you have the time! Let me know, and I can send you an invitation:)

1. Yes, but not too mean ones :) (I am quite a tease sometimes, though)
2. I can knit and cross-stitch, but I cannot crochet. I did try once, but I'm not a very needle-worky sort of person. I do on and off, and I like to knit in Winter :)
3. Les Miserables 2012 (skipping a few parts, of course), I think.
4. Um, depends what the flavouring is for - but probably orange.
5. Probably one of my friend's or sisters or family.
6. Umm...I don't really know.
7. Javert.
8. A horse, and I would name it Emerald.
9. Um, Les Mis, especially One Day More.
10. Something with chicken.

Thanks, that was fun!

Emily

Yay! You did the tag!!!
Just to say, I nominated you the Beautiful Blogger Award, not the Sunflower award. It's a bit confusing I know, since the 'Award' post started with a Sunflower Award' which someone nominated me. But at the end of that post you can see that I man a different 'award' (aka the Beautiful Blog Award) because I had the feeling that everyone already had the Sunflower one.
But never mind, I award you the Sunflower as well :P
Thank you for 'advertising' on my blog. It means a lot to me. And that's for following too!
I'm glad you like P&P95.
Oh I love Lizzy's brown bonnet! It's just so pretty!
I don't like Mr Rochester either.
All your three rooms, sound very lovely.
I will answer your questions soon....

Here I am again, for the questions!!! The questions are so much fun!!
1. Do you like pulling practical jokes on people?
Well, maybe. But you see I have four younger brothers and three younger sisters and they always play them before I even get the chance to!
2. Do you knit, crochet, cross stitch or do any other needlework? If not would you like to learn?
I can do all three and I have made scarfs and cushions and I have crocheted several things as well. At the moment, though, I am not making anything.
3. What was the last period drama you watched?
Downton Abbey. We are in the middle of watching series four.
4. Which flavor do you prefer: lemon, lime or orange?
Orange, probably. Though I like all three.
5. If you had a locket whose photo would you put inside?
Maybe someone precious who died recently, or a friend who lives very far away and who I hardly ever see. Or a picture of Mr Knightley :P Just joking.
6. If you were to create your own perfume line what scent would you most like to bottle up?
Lavender.
7. If you could scold one period drama villian in person who would you scold and why?
Haha, I love this question!
Well, probably Thomas in Downton Abbey. I'd keep him from a distance, because I'd be scared to death, stupid man.
8. If you were to get a new pet today what would it be and why what would you name it?
I am not a very animal-person, but I'd probably choose a little rabbit. I'd call it Bingley. :P
9. I always have a song in my head, what song has been on your mind lately?
The song 'For the Beauty of the Earth'. I love the tune J.Rutter composed to it. It's soooo beautiful.
10. What will you have for dinner?
Probably sandwiches.

Thank you Miss Laurie!!!
PS Again, sorry for the unclearness about which award it was. It's the Beautiful Blog award.

5. Umm . . . goodness . . . I don't know . . . a photo of my parents.
6. Lavender
7. Mr. Willoughby, because he was so mean to Marianne in public.
8. I would get a horse and name it . . . well, it would depend on what colour etc. the horse is.
9. Danny Boy

It was fun!
